How to Mix a Margarita

The margarita's origin is hazy. Tijuana and Juarez both lay claim to its birth, as do other Mexican locales that are not as well-known. Perhaps Seħorita Margarita just traveled across the country teaching people how to make her drink. Serves one.

Tips:
Some people don't like the salt, so you might want to ask first.

Variations of the classic margarita include the blue margarita (use blue curatao instead of Triple Sec and garnish with an orange wedge) and the melon margarita (use Midori instead of Triple Sec and garnish with a wedge of melon).

To serve a margarita on the rocks, put a few ice cubes in the glass before straining the drink over them.

Warnings:
Mixed drinks contain alcohol, so use moderation.

Never drink and drive.

Ingredients:
1 oz. triple sec or Cointreau

2 oz. tequila

3/4 oz. fresh lime juice

coarse salt

cracked ice

lime wedge

Steps:
1. Rub half a lime around the rim of a chilled margarita glass. Dip the glass into a plate of coarse salt.

2. Put 2 oz. tequila, 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice and 1 oz. Triple Sec or Cointreau in a cocktail shaker with cracked ice.

3. Shake three times and strain into the glass.

4. Garnish with a lime wedge.
