#4 Mexican Burgers


  • 1 pound processed cheese loaf
  • 1 jar ORTEGA Salsa - Homestyle Recipe (Mild), to taste
  • 1 bag blue corn tortilla chips
  • 3 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 1 can (4-oz.) ORTEGA Diced Green Chiles
  • 1 large white onion, peeled and chopped
  • 4 slices colby-jack cheese
  • 8 (10-inch) flour tortillas
  • 1 cup avocado dip
  • 16 ozs. refried bean dip


First make the cheese dip. Melt cheese in a crockpot and blend with about half of the salsa to taste. Serve with tortilla chips.

Form ground beef into 4 large, round patties. Cook on hot BBQ grill to 160°F for medium.

Place a spoonful of green chile, chopped onion and salsa on each patty, then melt a slice of Colby-Jack cheese on each.

Dress tortillas with salsa, avacado dip and bean dip and more chopped onion. Use as many tortillas top and bottom as you need to get this monster to your mouth! EeeHaa! Serve with the remainder of chips and cheese dip and a cold Mexican beer.
