Baked Chiles Rellenos


1 lb ground beef
1 package (1.25 oz.) ORTEGA Taco Seasoning Mix (or 40% Less Sodium Taco Seasoning Mix)
3/4 cup water
2 cans (4 oz. each) ORTEGA Whole Green Chiles, drained
1 jar (16 oz.) ORTEGA Salsa (any variety)
8 oz. shredded cheddar or Pepper Jack cheese


1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat; drain. Add taco seasoning mix and water and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until sauce is thickened.
2. Fill each chile with meat mixture and arrange in a single layer in a greased 2-quart baking dish. Spoon any remaining meat over chiles.
3. Pour salsa evenly over the chiles and sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 25 minutes or until sauce is bubbling and the cheese is melted and browned.

Makes 6 servings.
