Grilled Tuna Salad with Avocado Dressing


1 package (1.25 ounces) ORTEGA Taco Seasoning Mix
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 pounds tuna steaks
1 ripe avocado
1/4 cup ORTEGA Salsa, any variety
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 of 1 lime, juiced
1 clove garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 heads romaine lettuce, cleaned and chopped
Salt and black pepper to taste


In shallow pan, mix taco seasoning mix with 1/2 cup water. Coat tuna steaks on one side with taco seasoning mixture. Turn tuna steaks over and marinate, covered, 15 minutes in refrigerator. Turn tuna steaks over and marinate another 15 minutes.

Preheat grill until piping hot, about 15 minutes. Grill tuna steaks 4 minutes on each side (fish will be pink on inside). Grill longer for well-done fish, if desired.

For Avocado Dressing, slice and pit avocado; remove meat and place into small bowl. Add salsa, sour cream, lime juice, garlic and salt. Smash avocado with fork and combine ingredients well; toss with chopped lettuce.

Slice tuna steaks into strips and place on top of chopped lettuce. Add salt and pepper to taste.
