Homestyle Meatloaf


  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 medium carrots, peeled, diced
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 2 lbs. ground beef or mixture of beef, pork, and veal
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup chili sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 5 tsps. TRAPPEYS Red Devil Hot Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano


In 10-inch skillet over medium heat, in hot oil, cook onion, carrots and garlic about 5 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl, combine ground meat, bread crumbs, chili sauce, egg, parsley, RED DEVIL™ hot sauce, salt, oregano and onion mixture. In 13" by 9" baking pan, shape meat mixture into a 10" by 4" loaf. Bake 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Makes 8 servings.
