Jo Ann's Unstuffed Peppers


  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 2 large whole green peppers, sliced lengthwise
  • 1 whole yellow onion, sliced
  • 16 ozs. Beef Gravy
  • 28 ozs. canned whole tomatoes, drained and chopped
  • 3 tbls. REGINA White Wine Vinegar
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 4 whole pita pockets


In large skillet over medium high heat, brown ground beef; drain and return to skillet. Stir in green peppers, onion, and beef gravy. Simmer until peppers are tender, about 15 minutes. Add tomatoes; simmer 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat and add Regina(r) White Wine Vinegar and rice. Stir until blended. Slice pita pockets in half. Spoon ground beef mixture onto bottom half of pita, replace top and serve.
