Lacy Tortilla Hearts


4 (8-inch) ORTEGA Soft Flour Tortillas
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
   Powdered sugar


Preheat over to 400°F. Cut 3/4 –to 1-inch heart shapes from tortillas, using sharp paring knife. Place tortillas and cut-out pieces on 15X10-inch jelly-roll pan.

Combine butter and oil in small bowl; pour evenly over tortillas. Let stand 15 minutes.

Spread tortillas in single layer on pan, using additional jelly-roll pans or rimmed baking sheets. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until crisp and light golden brown. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar before serving.

Tip: For a colorful alternative, omit the powdered sugar. Combine 1 tablespoon red-colored granulated s sugar with 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon; mix well. Sprinkle over warm tortillas.
