The secret is the mayonnaise in these delicious pita pockets. Serve with sliced pears and for dessert.

Southwestern Pita Pockets


  • 1 cup ORTEGA Salsa - Homestyle Recipe (Mild), divided
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 6 pita breads, cut in half
  • 12 slices smoked turkey or chicken
  • 12 slices pepperjack cheese
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup sliced ripe black olives


COMBINE 1/2 cup salsa and mayonnaise in small bowl. In each pita half, place a slice of turkey, a slice of cheese, lettuce and olives; top with remaining salsa.
