Green chiles separate this turkey recipe from the rest.

Turkey with Green Chiles


  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 2 tsps. chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 pound turkey breast meat (uncooked), sliced
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 3/4 cups chicken broth
  • 4 ozs. ORTEGA Whole Green Chiles, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbls. flour
  • 2 tbls. water
  • 1/2 cup sour cream


IN a large saucepan heat oil. Add chili powder, cayenne pepper, cumin, salt; mix and add sliced turkey. Brown each slice on both sides.

ADDcrushed onion, broth, green chiles and garlic. Cover and simmer 35 to 45 minutes.

REMOVE the turkey to a platter,cover to keep warm. Drain juices back into the pan; skim the surface.

IN a bowl blend together flour and water; stir into the sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Stir in sour cream. Serve sauce over the turkey.
