Wright's Southwest Chile


  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cans 30 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can 16 ounce kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can 8 ounce tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon WRIGHTS Natural Hickory Seasoning
  • 1.25 ozs. Chili Seasoning Mix, * see ingredients below


In a large saucepan, over medium-high heat, brown beef and cook onion and green pepper in oil until tender; pour off excess fat. Stir in remaining ingredients; heat to boil. Cover; reduce heat. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot.

*2 teaspoons chili powder, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, ½ teaspoon each of garlic powder and ground cumin and 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper may be substituted for the chili seasoning mix. Makes 4 servings.
